'Ohana Day

One day during Dave's spring break we had 'Ohana Day where Dave took us on a surprise outing. We went down to Corona Del Mar and played at the tidepools. It was so fun and Chrissy loved it. We saw several papa'i (crab), i'a (fish) and limu (seawead). We had a very relaxing day and I am so grateful for a wonderful husband and daddy for our daughter.

Currently we go whenever time allows and it ends up that Chrissy is a natural at the kahakai (beach). She loves to point and say nalu (wave), moana (ocean), and he'e nalu (to surf). When we are at home, she actually takes her play cutting board from her play food set and slides slowly down the stairs and says, "He'e nalu! He'e nalu!" I'm sure she'll learn to surf when she is old enough, but for now our stairs are the only wave she'll be riding, under careful supervision of course. ; )
